  1. Greenland as a verdant canvas should be tolling bells of temerity. The daunting dilemma lays in the debacle of the dichotomy. Where a loose collective of passionate but powerless peons stand terrifyingly trembling in their feckless formations while the regal robberbarons shelter nicely nestled behind their plumes, pomp and plentitude oh and privileged position a.k.a power. They can be a plucky platoon this ragtag lot but still nevertheless afraid of trampling on the toffees toes whose patronage they serve on hand and foot. Albeit, the noble Danes do have a squeaky cleaner political complexion and international social standing than most. Still, the Greenlanders might see the wry side of the seriously plausible scenario of being the possession of a another possessed possession. Though the EU undoubtedly still is trying harder than most, kudos for the effort. It is the issue of an ‘us’ and what ‘WE’ want versus a ‘them’ and what they want which continues to be the basis for OUR failure to see the greater picture. Europeans and the West may have settled Greenland and given it it’s ridiculously nonsensical title as well as having reached the Antarctic and symbolically claimed it through the ritual of naming but this does NOT mean that the OTHER non Westerner should be deprived of their rightful concern towards the way in which these environments are being exploited and suffering from the belligerent actions of one avaricious group of capitalistically self consumed white men. Until the Antarctic Treaty and the voices of the mass of non white minions is heard, documentation and deliberations delivered by Americans and Europeans will only profit the Northern Powerhouses who have traditionally contributed to the defining of “righteous” deeds at the demonisation and vilification of all ‘others’. Unfortunately, i fret that it will require the inundation of the Thames or the submersion of Gotham city before the selfish West realises the grave nature of the current crisis which the ‘other’ less blinded clearly can envision.
